I've come to call my body of work "Eclectic Impressionism"
You'll notice several things about my paintings; color, a variety of interesting subjects
and unique compositions.
First off, I like color..always have. Whether it's purple shadows on a bridge at evening, a field of orange marigolds or a brightly colored tricycle being pedaled furiously by my grandson...for me it all starts with color.
Second and third go hand-in-hand. I like off-beat subject matter -old farm vehicles stuck in the weeds, kids & pets and landscapes & buildings in various stages of light and shadow.
It all interacts somehow to produce the final results in each of my paintings.
Over the years I've become very eclectic when it comes to subjects -I never know what
I'll come across next to paint. It's very exciting and I'm constantly looking at the world around me for the next canvas subject. I'm always amazed at the visual variety of possibilities that pop-up.
